What’s Your Paradigm?

All of us have our own unique way of looking at the world. This paradigm is largely based upon our experiences of life – how others around us have responded to situations as well as how we ourselves have reacted to circumstances. Throughout our childhood we were being moulded and fashioned by either godly or ungodly principles : our parents, siblings, friends and teachers, even the classes we studied and books we read were all helping us to form our view of the world.

If we have experienced a lot of pain, hurt, sickness or poverty it is hard for us to see the world as a kind and loving place, whereas if we have always had loving people around us, good health and sufficient money to meet our needs we have a very different paradigm of the world.  Our paradigm is closely linked to the way we think.

When Jesus came to earth, He showed and taught his disciples a very different way to think than anything they were used to.  He taught them to walk in love, to be kind and generous. He demonstrated power to speak to the wind, to heal the sick, to turn water into wine. He involved them in the miracles and had them distribute the five loaves and two fish to the thousands in the gathering. He spoke as one with authority and healed all who came to Him – not just the sick in body but in mind too. Part of that healing begins with changing the way we think.  As Romans 12:2 states, we need to be continuously transformed by the renewing of our minds.

Bible College is about renewing your mind and learning to think Kingdom thoughts. Learning to see the world through Heaven’s eyes. Only then will the things of the earth make sense and the glories of heaven be revealed.
